Maryann Clark Rankin

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Rankin, who departed this earthly life on September 25, 2025. Born on December 6, 1942, in Chester, Pennsylvania, Mary Ann was a deeply devoted Christian, placing her love for God above all else and living a life rich in faith and service.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, Henry Clark, and her mother, Mary Clark of Chester, PA, as well as by her beloved husband of 52 years, Andrew W. Rankin of San Antonio, TX. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heather Tanner, and son-in-law, Terry Tanner; her cherished granddaughters, Tera Owens (Luther), Grace Tanner, and Avery Tanner; and her great-grandchildren, Addison Owens and Orion Owens.

A person of compassionate spirit, Mary Ann dedicated her life to giving to others. She served honorably as a Registered Nurse in the United States Army and brought her healing touch to the San Antonio area for many years working as an RN.

Mary Ann and Andrew were devoted to their ministry at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where they served and supported their community. Additionally, she volunteered and taught Sunday school, sharing her faith and love with others.

In her later years, Mary Ann returned to her Roman Catholic roots, becoming a cherished member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she found spiritual nourishment and received pastoral care.

Mary Ann blessed her family with her creative soul. She spent countless hours making jewelry, creating artwork, and sewing outfits for her beloved grandchildren.

She is dearly missed by her family, who hold close memories of her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North 2102 North Loop 1604 East San Antonio, Texas 78232, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Honey Creek Church 25781 TX-46, Spring Branch, Texas 78070

Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
