Mary Bernice Casey

Mary B. Casey, 80, of Montgomery, TX, and a former longtime resident of April Sound, died Sunday, September 23, 2001. She was born June 8, 1921 in Walker County, Texas to Hattie Ann and Harvey B. Sandel. As the wife of a career military officer, Mrs. Casey enjoyed the opportunity to travel around the country and to live in Germany and Japan. Her home was Texas, however, and upon her husband's retirement, she never left her beloved Texas again. Mary Casey was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother. Her fun-loving spirit will continue to be an inspiration to all of us. A special thanks to Dr. Schwartz and the staff at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Wayne Sandel. She leaves to treasure her memory her husband of 62 years, Col. Henry G. Casey, USAF Ret.; daughter Sandy and husband Dwain Riney of Montgomery, TX; brother Tom Sandel of Bellville, TX; and sister Patricia Fuller of Huntsville, TX. "Mudgie" will be greatly missed by her loving grandchildren Casey Riney and wife Cindy of Montgomery, Kimberly Riney of Montgomery, and Randy Riney and wife Regina of Conroe, TX; and five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Carly, Nicholas, Reagan and Lindsey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
