Born in El Paso, Texas to Minnie Bell and Sherwood Isaac Tiffany, she was the youngest of five children. Mary Lou married her beloved husband, LTC Donald B. Davidson, U.S. Army Air Corps, during WWII. Following the war, they began their life together in California. Don was then recalled to active duty and they were posted in Germany as part of the Allied Occupation, accompanied by their son, Richard.
With Don reverting to Air Force reserve status and beginning his distinguished career as an engineer with the State of California, Mary Lou blossomed as mother, home maker, and real estate agent. To her many friends and family, she became renowned as a gourmet cook, hostess "with the mostest," and for opening their beautiful homes to family and friends. She also became the family historian and shared her knowledge through lovingly prepared scrap books for the family.
Upon Don's second retirement in 1994 from First American Title, the Davidson's moved to join other family in San Antonio. Mary Lou continued as the consummate hostess, was active socially, and enjoyed cruising until poor health slowed her down and she lost Don to Alzheimer's in September 2006.
She is survived by her son, Richard Alan Davidson of San Antonio; nephews, William Daugherty, Tom Alexander, Mike Alexander, Keith Alexander, Bill Alexander and Jim Tiffany; and nieces Camille Magness, Barbara Bledsoe, Roseann McKee, and Beverly Alexander Carter. She will be missed also by numerous grand nephews, nieces and their families.
