Since 1938, Mary Ruth was a resident of San Antonio and a graduate of Brackenridge High School.
She retired from Federal Civil Service after 33 years of employment.
She was an active member of Woodlawn Christian Church, Bible Study Fellowship and Daughters of the Nile.
One of her special interests, which she loved dearly, was oil painting.
Mary Ruth is preceded in death by her father, Claude Askin; mother, Beatrice Askin; brothers, Dale Askin, Keith Askin and Kenneth Askin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, R.V. Fairchild; brother, Marion Askin; sisters-in-law, Lois Askin, Ermabel Askin, Linda Askin, Bobby Parish, Margaret Powell and Catherine Parish; brothers-in-law, Cecil Parish and Thomas Powell; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
