A woman with a heart as big as her spirit, Colleen lived life with a remarkable combination of joy, humor, and unwavering faith. A lifelong fan of Texas A&M University and the Dallas Cowboys, even her cat Liam enjoyed watching the games on TV. Colleen’s love for animals knew no bounds. She spent countless hours volunteering at local animal shelters, caring for those in need. She was also known for her kindness in other ways, such as her dedication to helping those in need at her job with FirstMark Credit Union, where she could always be counted on to help out when needed for many volunteer activities.
One of Colleen’s most memorable traits was her infectious laugh—a goofy, pure sound that could lift anyone’s spirits. Her sense of humor brought light to every room she entered, and her ability to find joy in the little things made her a cherished friend. Colleen’s faith was her cornerstone, a constant and unwavering part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her father, James T. Fitzgerald Sr.; mother, Phyllis Burke Fitzgerald Wallace; stepfather, Jack D. Wallace and brother, James T. Fitzgerald Jr. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth A. Crissey; brother-in-law, Mel Crissey, nieces and nephews, Laura E. Anderson, Kevin F. Crissey (Emma V. Reynolds), Pace Anderson (Emily), Gabriella Anderson, Cameron Crissey, Carson Crissey, Curren Anderson, and James Anderson; step sisters, Jeanette Pierce, Katherine Griffin (Harry) and Mary Finney (Michael); many extended aunts, uncles, cousins, step nieces and step nephews; and her loving pets, Liam and Phoebe.
Colleen’s journey on this earth may have ended, but her joyful spirit, love of sports, and devotion to others will remain forever in our hearts.
