Mary Margaret Gerault 4/17/26 – 10/17/13. This amazing, wonderful, beautiful woman decided it was time to go shake things up in Heaven, Thursday evening 10-17-13. She was born April 17, 1926 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Roy LeCroy and Myrtle Muse-LeCroy. She attended Joe T. Robinson High School outside of Little Rock, Arkansas before meeting and falling madly in love with, of all things, a Texan, from Ennis; Louis Edward Gerault. They had a wonderful, fun and loving relationship, they lived in Arkansas when he came back from WWII and had one son: Louis Jr. and two daughters: Jon Gerault-Jones and MaryEd Meller. Then, they took off for New Mexico, Germany and retired in San Antonio. They were always very active in their church. For 6 years before Louis passed in 1980, they were the house parents at the Buckner Benevolence home for unwed mothers in San Antonio. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of her life; she loved those girls like her own. She was so full of life and laughter. She brought joy to everyone she met. Her love was unconditional and huge. She was so funny and never believed in behaving too much. She loved music and loved to sing. She had a beautiful voice. She traveled all over Europe and to almost every state in the USA. Arkansas always being her favorite. Mary was comfortable with anyone anywhere and made friends all over. She was impossible to forget; she was a unique individual and a hero to many.
The joy of her life was her ‘girls’; her two daughters, Jon & MaryEd; granddaughter, Carie Novikoff; and two great-granddaughters, Lindsey & Cristina Novikoff and their father, Lee. She loved them ferociously and showed them that every day. She loved her sons-in-law, Edward M. Jones III and Bruce Meller; her grandson, Chris Jones; and nieces & nephews and of course, ‘Theresa’. Most of all she loved her Lord, she was a real Christian, she didn’t talk the talk...she walked the walk every day of her life. We will not miss her because her joy will be in our laughter every day...and she will be in our hearts forever.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Clark Fooshee officiating.
