

Mary Paidakovich Goldner, age 94, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Mary was born to Lucy and Joseph Paidakovich on June 17, 1927, in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania. After graduation from Cumberland Township High School, Mary went to work for the FBI as a stenographer in both the Espionage and Identification departments. She often said living and working in Washington DC was one of the best times of her life. While there she met her future husband, Lyle, who at the time was a clerk for the FBI and then later became a Special Agent. She resigned her job to marry Lyle after he was assigned to his first office in Kentucky. Over the years they lived in New York City, New Jersey, Sacramento, and San Antonio. Upon retirement, Mary and Lyle traveled extensively throughout the US, Europe and South America. They also attended many Ex-Agent conventions around the nation with the many friends they had made over the years. After their sole grandson Brett was born, Mary enjoyed babysitting whenever possible and attending his sporting and band events. She was equally charmed by her two great grandsons who always brought a smile to her face.
Mary was preceded in death by parents Lucy and Joseph Paidakovich; husband Lyle Goldner; brothers Steven, Matt, and John Paidakovich. Mary is survived by daughter Sheryl Short (Gary); Grandson Brett Gaines (Jennifer); two great grandchildren Jordan and Colton Gaines; step grandchildren Rebecca, Reagan (Caitlin) and Austin (Meg) Short, sister-in-law Doris Goldner of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews. . There will be a private visitation for the family at Porter Loring North Mortuary, 2102 N. Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Tx, on February 13, 2022, and burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
