Mary Jane (Hungate) Goodell, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. Mary Jane was born to Jesse M. and Maude Hungate, in Louisville, Nebraska on September 13, 1924. She was preceded in death by both parents and an older brother, Winn. She met Douglas Goodell, in Lusk, Wyoming and they were married in Midland, Texas in April 1943. Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 68 years, Douglas; daughter, Beverly K. Brown & husband, Jim of San Antonio; son, Robert D. Goodell & wife, Janice of New Windsor, Maryland; grandson, Robert G. Goodell & wife, Amy of Westminster, Maryland; and granddaughter, Gretchen M. Goodell of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Visitation will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. H. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
