
She graduated from Texas State College for Women in 1936, following which she married Richard C. Halter in 1938, and moved to Baytown, Texas, where she lived until 1975, when she and her husband moved to San Antonio, where she remained until her death.
In Baytown, she was a member of the Service League, served as a librarian at the Baytown Public Library, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In San Antonio, she was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the choir and active in many other roles in support of the church.
She was also a member of Our Reading Club. Her husband of 65 years, Richard C. Halter, died in 2003. She is survived by her son, Richard F. Halter and his wife, Beverly; son, Dr. Jack C. Halter and wife, Anne; and son, Grant W. Halter and wife, Sheryl; grandchildren, Richard G. Halter, Laura Chaput and husband, Dr. Christopher Chaput; granddaughter, Amy Aragon and husband, Steve; granddaughter, Jenny Baldwin and husband, Rob; grandson, Brandon Halter; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Guy S. Halter and wife, Virginia; niece, Audrian Spencer.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 o'clock p.m., Thursday, June 8, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, San Antonio, Texas.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to care givers Melinda Richter, Gloria Anguiano, Sandra Deleon, and Dolores Pimetel, and special care giver, Cyndi Schmidt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church of San Antonio, or other charities.
