

Mrs. Hardy was a retired teacher, having taught 12 years in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District and 8 years in the Laredo Independent School District. She taught English to many high school seniors and helped prepare them to succeed in college.
After she retired, she and her husband, Robert D. Hardy, moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they made their home for the last 29 years.
She was a fifty-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wimodausis Chapter #141. She was also a member of the Fort Sam Houston chapter of the Retired Officers Wives and Widows Club, the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Robert D. Hardy.
She is survived by her son, Donald Lee Hardy and wife, Patsy Hardy; daughter, Karen Hardy Whitenton and husband, Cary Whitenton; daughter, Bette Hardy Sanders; son, Norman Dean Hardy and wife, Gabriela Hardy; grandchildren, Roberta Castillo, George Travis Hardy, Mary Ruth Whitenton, Kathryn Whitenton, Kayley Sanders, Torie Sanders, Paul Derek Hardy, Kevin Hardy, Jonathan Hardy, Bryan Hardy, Nicholas Hardy, Scarlet Hardy; and great grandchildren, Christina Castillo, Nicholas Castillo, and Eric Castillo.
