Mary Valdez Hernandez

Mary V. Hernandez, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2016 in San Antonio. After graduating from Burbank High School she began her career in accounting working at several air bases in civil service until her retirement. She had an artist eye that was made evident with her oil paintings and floral arrangements. Mary loved to travel and entertain for any occasion or celebration. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church. Mary was a devoted caretaker for her parents and husband of over 60 years, Eugene, who all preceded her in death. She is survived by cousins, Sylvia W. Jimenez (Carlos), Josie V. Warren (Gilbert), Emma V. Reyna, Mary Helen Davila, Frank Valdez (Yolanda), Rosemary Lujan (August) and Steve Warren, sister-in-law, Mary Louise Hernandez, numerous nieces and nephews including Nick Hernandez, Jr., Lisa Gephardt, JoAnn Yzaguirre, Sandra Navarro. Mary was God-parent to 19 children. The family would like to thank her caretaker, Irma Otero for her loving care. On Wednesday, May 4th at 7:00 PM, recitation of the Rosary will be held in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough. On Thursday, May 5th, Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road.
