Mary Lou Hoekstra

Mary Lou Hoekstra passed away on November 17, 2017 at the age of 83. She was born in Pawnee, Texas on September 18, 1934 to Ozzie and Edna Jimerson. She was a loving and caring person, always available to her family and friends. Traveling was what she and her husband loved to do, almost as much as being with family and friends. She and her husband were faithful members of the San Antonio Classic Thunderbird Club for over 40 years. Her friends in the club nicknamed her “Sweet Little Mary Lou”. She was said to have never met a stranger, even till the very end.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Ozzie and Edna Jimerson; her son, Larry Marvin Hoekstra; two brothers and her sister. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arnold “Andy” Hoekstra; her children, Cindy Gwinn (Garry), Linda White (Daniel Luna); grandchildren: Brandi, Brooke, Megan, Amber, Brittany; great-grandchildren: Carter, Cash, Aiden, Morgan, Cole, Kai; and numerous family members and friends.

Visitation will begin on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm. A Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11am at the Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park
