She was born and raised in England and came to live in the United States with her late husband, Adrian F. Hurd, when he was transferred by his company, S.C. Johnson of Racine, Wisconsin, 35 years ago.
She is survived by her son, Prof. Geoffrey W. Hurd and his wife Stella; daughter, Maureen Anne Butler and her husband Nigel; five grandchildren, Daniel, Ben, Alison, Christopher and Noel; seven great-grandchildren, Jake, Oliver, Lily, Cameron, Julianne, Tatum and Jayden; two brothers and one sister.
