Gary & I are so sorry to hear of cousin Nita's passing.  I will never forget some years ago, we traveled from Cincinnati to San Antonio to visit Nita & Hubert, and they graciously insisted on us staying with them in their lovely home. They were both wonderful hosts and gladly  chauffeured us around the many interesting & historical sites of San Antonio.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with them.  I was grateful to have spent some  time with my cousin and getting to know her.  May Nita rest in peace.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Hubert, and family.  With love, Mary Ann

Mr Lange~my folks were friends with you and Nita.    I was 15 years older than Caroline and Cecilia and far-away in Hawaii.   But I remember your smiling faces at church when we visited in San Antonio.   Memories of you and my Dad; both in suits.

I'll always remember Nita's laughter and how she made those around her laugh.  She was kind, generous and determined.  She will always be in my heart.

So sorry for your loss. We were neibors when we lived in Forest Oaks then they were neibors at Avalon memory care. Loved seeing your dad would come and play cards with her. I understand what your going thru my mom passed away Dec 29. Always remember the good times to help you.

Condolences from your neighbor of 48 years Carolyn Gabriel, I have many fond memories of times together, Nita was always there to help with advice, we shared lots of experiences with the girls growing up.

I was saddened to learn of Nita's death and my condolences to Hubert and all the family.  I know she will be greatly missed.  I always enjoyed visiting with her at reunions, board meetings, and during "book meetings" at her home.  Prayers for comfort and blessings in the days ahead.  May she rest in peace!

I had the pleasure to work with Nita for many years at Lackland I.S.D. She always had a smile on her face and made you feel welcomed and glad that you were there. She was a team player and wanted the best for staff and students alike. I will miss her, but my fond memories will remain. Love to you Nita.

I always loved Nita and had so much fun with her on our rare visits.   She and JC were my only cousins that were close to me in age.  I was able to visit her in 1973 and enjoyed seeing San Antonio and shopping for Hubert's birthday present.  I also enjoyed our telephone conversations so much.   Hubert, do you remember our Hayden Family Reunion in 1982?  Also, it was  great to see your Mother and Dad at Cecilia's son's wedding picnic a few years ago.

Nita was our secretary at Lackland Elem. School for years and years during the 1980's and 1990's.  She took a rock from the Berlin Wall that I had and made it into a necklace piece for me.   That piece of jewelry is still very special to me.  She was always full of love and kindness for everyone.  May she forever rest in the peace of our Lord.

Nita was such a good co-worker who could get everything done and also keep up with everyone’s needs and any tough life events. She always checked to see what I needed and many times took care of deadlines etc., before even being asked.  I know God has received her into her heavenly home. 🙏


“Old neighbors/Old friends”.  There were eight of us from back in the late 60’s.  Picture includes: Nita, Pat Cone, JuJu Driskill, Norma Anderson, Margaret Gibney, Elvira Maldonado - missing Jonnie Matthews and Shirley Oliver.  Wonderful memories -  women’s bunco, couples bunco, bring whatever you’ve got and get together at someone’s home, weddings, births, graduation — a life time of memories.  Will miss you Nita!!! On behalf of the residents and staff of The Village at Incarnate Word, I extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Lange family. Nita was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. It was our privilege to have her in our community for the past year. All my interactions with her were joyful, especially when I brought her Holy Communion in her room. I am asking God to grant each of you peace of mind and heart as you observe your first Christmas without her in your midst. Perhaps it will help you to remember that she is in Heaven with Jesus, Mary and Joseph in the presence of almighty God, with no limitations of any kind - just pure love and joy.
