Mary Teri Olsen

Mary "Teri" Olsen, 59, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, in Helotes, TX. Teri was born in Chicago, IL on January 15, 1957 to Jim and Mary Lou Gwynn. Teri had three younger sisters – Patty, Lori, and Beth, and one younger brother – Michael. Teri and her four younger siblings were raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Teri attended Trinity University in San Antonio, where she found a passion for teaching elementary school and working with children.

She married Glen Olsen, 62, on November 20, 1982. Teri and Glen have two daughters, Kristine and Lindsey Olsen. Teri and Glen have run a successful photography business, Olsen Portrait Design, for the past 33 years.

Teri had a special way of making children laugh for photographs and turning babies' tears into smiles. Teri was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, where she spent the last several years as a member of the choir, praising the Lord through song. Teri had an infectious smile, lively personality, and one of the most selfless hearts that a friend/mother/wife could have.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Gwynn.

Teri is survived by her husband, Glen Olsen; and her two daughters, Kristine and Lindsey.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesday, May 18th, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
