

She was employed with USAA for 40 years, beginning her career as a stenographer and worked her way up the ladder in Customer Service – Pacific Region of USAA as Assistant Vice President. Mary assisted in creating the software for the computer programs, designed computer systems and designed forms for the various departments.
Mary was an avid reader with murder mysteries being her favorite. She delighted in the publications in the daily newspaper, loved politics and current affairs. She unselfishly would help others and took great pride in casting her vote for the first African American President of the United States and was a proud card-carrying member of the ACLU.
Her religion played an integral part in her life, being a member at Jefferson UMC over 30 years, she and her daughter together attained great satisfaction in playing with the Bell Choir.
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfred G. Pieper and their son, David Pieper.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Alice L. Pieper; sister, Kathleen Grayshon; nephews, Richard and Jeff Grayshon, and numerous nieces and nephews from her husbands family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24th beginning at 6:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough. On Friday, August 25th at 11:00 AM, a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel with interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
