

Mary Ellen Renteria went to be with the Lord, February 9, 2013. She was born November 28, 1928 in El Paso, Texas. Mary Ellen was married to Manny Renteria until his death in May of 2001. She was one of the founding members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was also part of the Altar Society, a member of the Bereavement Committee and part of the Blessed Sacrament Quilters. Mary Ellen owned and operated Manny’s Tacos for 13 years. She belonged to the Concord Senior Swim & Exercise Club, the ladies’ Bunco Club, and Oakhills Bowling Club. Mary Ellen loved people and enjoyed life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her grandkids were the apple of her eye. She was the ultimate grandma! Mary Ellen was a people person, always opening her heart to others. She loved people unconditionally and was never judgmental.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Mario Tejeda and Carlota Tejeda; husband, Manny Renteria; sister, Martha Bukowski; son-in-law, Carl Buck and granddaughter, Elizabeth Renteria.
Survivors include her children, Cecilia Buck, Victor Renteria, Danny Renteria and wife Cynde, Becky Offner and husband Donald, and Bobby Renteria; grandchildren, Christopher Renteria, Emily Buck, Amanda Johnson, Carl Buck, Carla Sims, Adam Buck, Stephanie Erickson, Ashley Hale, Sarah Buck, Cristina Renteria, Sean Bonnette and Mary Renteria as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 17 from 1PM to 5PM at Sunset North Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be Sunday, February 17 at 7PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, February 18 at 10AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation or the Blessed Sacrament Quilters for 8th grade scholarships.
