Mary Frances Robinson was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 19th, 1943. She was raised in Tennessee and Cleveland Ohio by Grandma McElroy and her aunt Lula Mae.She had a passion for art from a young age and would visit the Cleveland Art Museum often. She later turned her fondness and talent for art into a professional career as a primitive artist. Mary’s inspiration for her oil paintings came from rural landscapes she first discovered in Mississippi. As a self-taught artist, she developed her own original style of capturing country landscapes and vibrantly colored quilts with oil on canvas. During her art career she earned numerous awards and accolades, illustrated a children’s book, designed event posters, and had her art displayed in galleries across the country. What she enjoyed most was traveling for the art show circuit with her husband Hollis B. Robinson.
Though she was an amazing artist, family and friends will mostly remember her as a devoted wife, a loving, selfless mom and nana, and a warm friend. As she dances in heaven, she will forever be in our hearts.
The family of Mary Frances Robinson wishes to express our sincere thanks for the expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness during our time of bereavement.
Thessalonians 4:13-14
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 “So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”
