Mary Hernandez Sandoval

Mary Hernandez Sandoval beloved mother, grandmother, and sister entered eternal rest on November 9, 2008 at the age of 85. She has joined her husband, Ignacio Sandoval, her parents, Conrad and Elvira Hernandez and brothers, Gilbert, Carlos and Albert.

Mary was the eldest of eleven children and began a twelve-year career with Civil Service at the age of 19 to help support her family.

After her marriage in 1954, she became a homemaker, but continued her involvement in the community. She was a well-respected member and president of the Bonham Elementary, Page Junior and Brackenridge High School PTAs.

Mary was also a devoted substitute teacher at these schools for over 2 decades.

She was caring and generous and willingly gave her time and resources to her family, friends and community.

She is survived by her siblings: Gloria Gomez, Conrad Hernandez, Consuelo Massiatte, Elvira Moreno, Yolanda Salinas; her two daughters, Mary Anne Minter and husband, Jack, Yolanda Grant and three grandchildren: Jessica Marie Rose, Jacob Michael Owen, and David Isaac Grant.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 10th from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Porter Loring with a rosary at 7:30 P.M.
