On December 29, 2015 the Lord called Mary Jane Talley to her Eternal home. Jane was a loving daughter to Mary and Richard Agnew, a faithful wife to her husband Neal Talley, and an adoring grandma to her grandson Davey Talley who have all been awaiting her arrival.
She is survived by her brother Dick Agnew, and his wife Jane, her son David Talley, and his wife Linda, her daughter Susie Sprink, and her husband Jeff, grandson Matthew Sprink, and his wife Holly, and great-grandchildren Lucy Jane and Mikias Sprink. She is also survived by her cousin Arthur Glaze, and his wife, Mary Ellen, and her niece Dara Agnew Wandel.
Jane was born in San Antonio and lived her entire life in the Alamo City. She graduated from Brackenridge High School and attended San Antonio College. Jane married the love of her life in 1946. She and her husband enjoyed years of reunions with their BEOF group of friends (Brackenridge Eagles of the Forties). She was a devoted wife and was married for 44 years until Neal's homecoming.
Jane was always a loving Mom throughout her life. It was a great joy for her to be a grandmother and great grandmother and she was affectionately known as "Jammaw." Jane was actively involved in the life of her family.
She lovingly supported her husband Neal in numerous Shrine activities, including serving as the Potentate's "Lady Jane." She and Neal had countless friends throughout many years of service with Shrine organizations. Jane encouraged and loved her children throughout their lives, serving in PTA's, scout groups and other community associations. She enjoyed working as a secretary for her husband's business, and also served as a school secretary and purchasing clerk for SAISD.
She was a gracious lady with a strong faith in God. At an early age Jane accepted His gift of everlasting life. She worked faithfully in church, serving as a deacon, president of TWA, chairman of the kitchen committee, a choir member, a pianist for children's choirs, a faithful Sunday school member, and an active member of many other committees. She was an enthusiastic and proud member of the Sonshine Singers and always believed music was an uplifting way to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Jane had a beautiful smile, a love for life, and a true servant's heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
