I was blessed to be part of Austins life journey. I was his Home Health Nurse for 3months. He and his brothers Jake and Zach became like family. I never had a dull moment with Austin. He was always in a cheerful mood, smiling and not once was he negative or angry about his prognosis. He would even smile on a bad day. ... He was a fighter til the end. i was blessed to be there when he went to Heaven... i dont have past memories with him but meeting some of his friends i can see he was an amazing person. Zach and Jake took excellent care of Austin... May God continue to Bless the Patton Family... Thank you so much for the time we shared... Melinda RN

My mom told me of Austin's death and it has touched me deeply. Just having the Fort Worth connection means I think of you often. I'm praying for you and your family. You have my deepest condolences on the death of Austin.

Matthew was always very very energetic Sailor and he will be missed by many of his friends and shipmates.

Austin was a very good friend of my son, David. I had always enjoyed hearing news of Austin since they graduated from College. When David told me before Christmas about Austin's cancer and his prognosis my heart broke for Austin, his family and friends. David had the wonderful  opportunity to spend time with him.I thought Austin was being remarkable during this time,after talking to David and hearing about his visits. One of the things David said about him was "he was just Austin". Austin and your family has been and will remain in my thoughts and prayers. My heartfelt condolences to all your family.

my heart goes out to the patton family; i graduated bootcamp and continued on to  a school with him.  he took me on my first taxi ride, and was my shoulder to lean on during those first few months.  he will never be forgotten and will be missed and loved very much.

I remember Austin when he was a student at The College of St. Thomas More.  He lived in the apartment next door to my son.  One of the last times that I saw him was at his graduation from college.  He was a fine young man and holds a special place in my heart and in my prayers.  My sincerest sympathy to his family, he is missed by many.

Deepest condolences to the Patton family, Matthew's story touched our hearts on so many levels.  We never knew him but he is in our hearts and prayers.  He was taken way too soon. Deepest condolences to the Patton family.  I knew Austin from the Lady Margaret Roper School, where he was a classmate of my children, Chris and Anna Carson.  I remember that he was a very nice young man, a real sweetheart.  I last saw him the day before he went off to join the service.  He is much missed.

My condolences to the Patton Family.  I had the privilege and honor of getting to know Matthew when he came through the Training Department. He was a direct and honest Sailor with a good sense of humor. I always enjoyed chatting with him. I will miss him.

My deepest condolence Zac to you and the family, this is Rita. I have't stopped thinking of you guys, you and your family will always be in my thoughts.
