I am saddened to learn about this today that my favorite cousin is gone. I am flooded with memories of running through grandma's backyard playing soldiers. You opened me up to philosophy, jazz, and scotch. Things I will always be reminded of you now. My condolences to Sandra and Hank. I am saddened that our family has lost such a bright and shining soul. I'll miss you cuz.

We would like to thank Mister Rodriguez for his consideration and kindness toward our granddaughter Monica. We consider him as a "cornerstone" of our community. His guidance was heartfelt as he inspired our family to recover during very difficult times. He was a saint on earth and we and the kids at his school will miss him dearly! 
To his family, our condolences as we understand how proud you must be of his professionalism at work with the kids as well as the entire community.

I am truly saddened by your passing. I will always remember your kindness and generosity towards me and my daughter Meredith. You always made us feel at home playing on your trampoline in the back yard. All those days we shared play time with Hank I knew he had such an excellent father and role model. I can only repay your gesture by promising to keep our children's friendship alive. I know Hank will miss you but we will all do our best to help him grow into a fine young man you would be proud of. I was Freshmen English Teacher at South San. He was a good man. After coming back to visit after a deployment while I was active duty he gave me a big bear and told me he was glad I made it home safe. I remember him fondly.

Max was my freshman year English teacher and later my administrator I would turn to when I was employed with the south san isd and my friend for many years. I will always remember the things he thought me and lessons I learned. Always remembered but never forgotten rip Max Rodriguez.

To Sandra, Hank, George, and Deborah my deepest and sincerest condolences for your loss and ours! He was such a great mentor with a great heart when I began as a new teacher at South San! Just want to let you know that I KNOW THAT it might be hard for you to understand right now the reason for his departure but, he wants you to know that he remains with you spiritually and is only a thought away! He is so much closer to you all now as a angel for ALL of you! Please don't suffer so much for him...he wants you to celebrate his life and every time you want to cry and get sad think of something funny that we did together and LAUGH instead! Hey Max, sorry I did not get a chance to say good bye. If you can here me, I want to let you know that you are a great friend and colleague, and I am going to miss you. I am going to miss our little talks, our little disagreements, the respect we had for each other. Semper Fi, Brother, I know the gates of heaven are safe, because there is another U.S Marine reporting for duty.

Thank you old friend for your help. I know I wouldn't be teaching without it. The things you taught me about using will live on in my teaching style.

We have loved Max since 6th grade at Bradley Middle School. He made a difference in our lives and in the life of our son Kerry King. I believe they are romping together again in heaven as they did many years ago.

Max you will always be a shining light to your principal friends, sorority brothers, Marine buddies, Mac HS, St Mary alumni friends and the list never ends. You were such a BRILLIANT, fun loving human being. I will always cherish the decade plus great times we shared. We laughed enough to last a lifetime! You were there for me during my darkest career days and as long as I live I will never ever forget the advice you gave me. You loved your job and school and it became truly evident when you gave them a mascot! I remember how proud you were of your HONEY BADGERS! Even though we teased you about it, you knew we were proud!! I will cherish our last conversation only days before you left us. May all the love that we have for you make its way to the ones you adored most: Sandra and lil Hank. RIP dear friend.

I was a friend and classmate with Max at Mac Arthur High School. We both played football and track together as well. He was one tough dude to bring down! Very strong both physically and mentally. It's so sad to hear of his passing and the whole Mac community is still in shock. He will be deeply missed. God bless and may he rest in peace!

I was privileged to work with Max when I first started working at South Sans English Department in 2004. As I reminisce, his booming voice resonates in my memories. I found Max to be strong, intelligent, and personable. When Max left for Boerne High School, I was saddened yet was once again elated when he returned as the high schools Vice Principal. It made me happy to have a great coworker come back with a love for teaching and passion to make a positive difference. I miss Max and I do feel that the time that I was able to work with him was enriching. Max had a calling and gift as a teacher. He understood the needs of our students. And like our Catholic faith, we are called to be a light to the world and share the gifts of the fruit that was bestowed on us to others in need. I know that Max shared his light with the students, teachers, and friends he worked with. I offer my deepest prayers of comfort to Maxs family and friends in this time of healing.

Max and I partnered up and worked many hours together obtaining our Masters in Educational Leadership from UTSA. He had an infectious spirit and personality, and was simply a really likeable guy.
