Maximus Aurelius Martinez-Goff born October 8, 2015 was granted his angel wings and went to be with the lord on February 8, 2016. His time here with us was spent surrounded by family and friends that Max had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
Max is survived by his loving parents, Micheal Goff and Priscilla Martinez; big brother Ezequiel; paternal grandparents James & Barbara Diggs; maternal grandparents Art & Sylvia Martinez; His uncles Cesar Martinez and Artemis Martinez Jr and other numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Max will be greeted in Heaven by his great-great-grandparents Martina Gomez and Eloisa Martinez; great-grandparents, Artemio C. Martinez, Ramon C. Garza, Olga Martinez, and Cornelia “Connie” Goff; great-aunts Wanda Barrera, Patricia Martinez, Diana Dodson and great-uncle Leonard Goff.
Even though Max was here for only a short time he touched many people’s lives. He was a strong willed baby and knew what he wanted. What most people would give up on, Max kept fighting for. He had his random moments when he would only pull on the pretty nurse’s hair and smile so big afterwards. He would look at you with the cutest meanest look if you woke him up because he loved his sleep. Max was a genuinely happy baby despite all his circumstances. He was unconditionally loved by everyone. Max brought so much love and joy into our lives we will be forever grateful for everyday we were able to spend with him. We are deeply saddened by his passing, because he will not get to experience this beautiful life that we know he would have led.
Even though Max had amazing Doctors and nurses we would like to thank 3 very special nurses and 2 Doctors, whom stood out among all the rest and who cared for Max, Adela, Becky, Susanne and Dr. Barbara-Jo Achuff and Dr. Cabrera. Also, those of you who would like to make an honorary donation can do so in memory of Max, to the Children’s Heart Foundation: www.childrensheartfoundation.org/
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Trevino Funeral Home (226 Cupples Road) beginning at 12pm followed by the Rosary at 7pm. Family and friends are invited to meet on Monday, February 15, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church (804 Ruiz St) for Mass at 9am; Funeral procession will immediately follow to San Fernando Cemetery No 2 (746 Castroville Rd).
