

Maxine Valerie Pruitt Morrow, 94, went to her heavenly reward on July 15, 2017. Maxine, known as “G.G.” to her family, was born on June 20, 1923 in Winnsboro, Texas to Elvin Malone and Willie Ecra Pruitt. Following graduation from Winnsboro High School in 1941, she moved to San Antonio to work in the war effort. There she met the love of her life, Wiley Morrow. They married in December 1945 and began a military life, raising a family living in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Colorado, Oklahoma and twice in Germany.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, her husband Wiley and a son, Michael Glenn Morrow. She is survived by her three children, Kenneth Patrick (Brenda) of El Paso, two daughters, Jeannie Pulgini (Doug) of the Woodlands, and Susan Palmer (Bruce) of San Antonio; also 6 grandchildren, Kenneth Michael of Sparta, Tennessee, Jeremy Hooper, San Antonio, Bryce, Kacie, and Whitney Palmer, San Antonio, and Niki Rielly of Willis, Texas plus 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11:30 am, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Wiley.
The family expresses its appreciation to her caregivers, Tiki Tate and Irene Esteves and the awesome staff of Vitas Hospice.
