

Melba was proud of her German heritage, family, and life growing up in the two room Lower Valley School House. She was honored to be a part of the history of moving Lower Valley School to the Alamo Community College District, NE Westlake College campus. She is pictured there in a horse drawn buggy with her brother and sister on the way to school.
Melba graduated from Schertz-Cibolo High School. She was a secretary in Community Education at NEISD for 20 years until her retirement in 2000. Melba was an avid sports fan for the Longhorns, Cowboys, and Spurs. Her enthusiasm and spirit watching them paralleled her own fight against lung cancer.
Melba is survived by her husband of 41 years, husband, Billy J. Coach McCullough of San Antonio; daughter, Sandy Dare and husband Milton of Kerrville and Fredericksburg; daughter, Cindy Wesch and husband Pat Miller of Austin; grandsons, Matthew Dare of Austin and Michael Dare of Fredericksburg, Gabe Miller and Matthew Miller of Austin; granddaughter, Andrea Miller of Austin; brother, Melvin Katt of Damon; aunt, Ethline Katt of New Braunfels; cousins, Herbert Acker, Jr., Ruby Biegert, Mary Miner, Dorothy Attkisson, Betty Kating, Sylvia Seiler, Jeanette Gooden, Janice Young, Glory Ann Johnson, Viola Norwood, Martha MacDonald, Jerry Lynn Tkac, and Patricia Joslyn and numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends in her life include Stephanie, Brianna and Trey Perez, Anna Vera and family and Jaime and Dianna Lopez.
Melba was preceded in death by her daughter, Katy Wesch; infant son, Randy Wesch; grandson, Mitchell Dare; parents, Edwin and Lydia Katt; sister, Margie Katt McCoy; and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McCullough.
Pallbearers are Matthew Dare, Michael Dare, Gabe Miller, Matthew Miller, Edwin Fisher, Scott Seiler, and Keith Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Seiler, Rich Attkisson, Don King, Jerry Kight, and Duke Harlow.
