

Brownsville, TX, to parents, Gervasio Garcia and Irma Villagran Garcia. She attended St. Phillips
College and went on to a dental school, becoming a dental assistant for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gervasio Garcia and stepfather Raul Garcia.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Nathan Miller, Mother Irma Villagran Garcia, brother Gervasio Garcia Jr., sister Maribel Garcia Leal, husband Jesse Leal, nephews Devin L. Mosley, David Garcia Leal, stepbrothers Raul Garcia Jr., and Carlos Garcia, stepsister Selina Garcia, and step nieces Andrea delaTorre Garcia and Amy Garcia.
Melissa was very outgoing, carefree, lively, and was always the center of attention. She loved her family
and friends, always looking to do for others, and will be most remembered for the love and care of dogs
by fostering over 450 during her lifetime. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on
Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
