

Susan was born on Sandia Base in Albuquerque, NM. She traveled with her mother, Mary Lou Perritt and father, Willie Clyde Noles as he pursued his military career in the U.S. Army. She lived in Huntingdon, TN; Heidelberg, Germany; Petersburg, VA; Fort Knox, KY; Fort Clayton, Canal Zone, Panama and Fort Sam Houston where she graduated from Robert G. Cole High School.
During her time at Cole, she was crowned Miss Fort Sam Houston, 1976, and represented FSH in many citywide events, including Fiesta.
She graduated from Trinity University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and was engaged in the business world until devoting herself full time to her family.
She was predeceased by her loving mother, Mary Lou Noles and her brother, William Mark Noles. She is survived by her husband, Jorge H. Torres, her two loving children, Robert B. Torres and Kristen D. Torres, her two step-children, Sonny Torres and Josefina Torres-Foulke, her father, Willie C. Noles, CSM (RET) USA and his wife, Phyllis, her sister, Deborah H. Neely and her husband, Michael, their children, Merrily, Tara, and Brandon, her brother, Kevin M. Noles and his wife, Cherie, and their son, Jackson W., and dear grandchildren, Aubrey D. Torres, Gabriel Hernandez III, Madeline J. Torres, Caroline A. Foulke, and Stephanie G. Foulke.
Susan was such a beautiful and gentle soul. She had a smile that would light up the darkest skies which would allow the sunlight of the spirit to shine through. The good Lord took Susan home but not without letting her touch the lives and show love to so many. Susan was truly a gift from God.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 30, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home on 1701 Austin Hwy/ The funeral service will also be at Sunset on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 12-1 P.M. with interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery to follow.
