

Melissa Ann Palacios-Patino, age 49, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, after a brief illness. Missy was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Henry Palacios, Jr., and Irma Palacios.
Missy was a mother of nine children, five of whom are in heaven united with their mother. Nicholas Raul
(25), twin girls, Adelaide Ann (24) and Allison Ann (24) and twin boys, Austin Taylor (23) and Austin Tyler (23). She leaves behind four surviving children: Ashley Ann (26), Amanda Ann (21), Amber Ann
(14) and Austin Raul Patino (12). Missy was an extremely proud and loving mother to her children.
Always enthusiastic, charismatic, and full of energy, Missy was an outstanding student and star athlete in high school and college. She was an all-state basketball player and a junior Olympian in volleyball from Katy Mayde Creek High School. She was recruited from all the top tier Division One schools, receiving over a hundred scholarship offers including from Notre Dame and Baylor. She chose to play basketball
for Southwest Texas State University, now known as Texas State University, to be nearer to family. Missy also received offers to play overseas as a professional basketball player, but instead chose to be a loving wife and mother. She met the love of her life, Raul Patino on August 24, 1994, when they sat next to each other at a college business statistics class. Missy and Raul were inseparable until her last breath as Raul held her tight in his arms in a loving embrace. Surrounded by her loved ones, she made sure to tell them all that she loved them. Her last words to her husband were "I love you". She passed away smiling, happy and in peace.
Missy is preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Palacios. She is survived by her parents, Henry and
Irma Palacios: brothers Henry Palacios III (Rose deceased), Benjamin Palacios (Julia), Michael Palacios (Diana), sister-in-law Perla Palacios, mother-in-law, Maria Del Carmen Patino (Arnulfo, deceased), as well as siblings-in-law Rick Patino (Liz), Carmen Ramos (Joe), Raquel Garza (Rene), Ricky Patino (Denise), Rene Patino (Lillian), Rosalinda Rivera (John), 13 nephews and 16 nieces, aunts, uncles and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2022, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Porter Loring North.
