She had served this hospital as a St. Helena Catholic Church Eucharistic minister for over 18 years. She was active in various ministries of St. Helena's, the CPA Auxiliary, the Alpha Phi Sorority Alumni and was currently Chairperson of the City of San Antonio Disability Access Advisory Committee.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald; children, Mary K. Malik, Anne M. Hanson and husband Jim, Robert J. Malik and wife Christine; grandchildren she claimed her grandchildren were the best in the world, Travis and Caitlyn Hanson, and Ashley and Aaron Malik.
