

Micaela "Mickey" C. Alvarado, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on May 17, 1931, in Elmendorf, Texas, to Fernando Casanova and Micaela Seguin.
Mickey had a sharp sense of style and a keen eye for fashion, always ensuring she looked her best. She had a strong faith that guided her throughout life and found joy in traveling, exploring new places, and embracing the adventures life had to offer. Her hobbies included exercising, line dancing, and sewing—each a reflection of her energetic spirit and creativity. Mickey also valued socializing with friends, and she was an active member of the Commander’s Club Senior Center, where she found companionship through games of bonco and lively conversations.
Mickey was never one to shy away from speaking her mind. She lived with conviction, and her directness and honesty were qualities that defined her. Those who knew her respected her straightforward approach to life, as she was always true to herself.
Mickey is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband of 60 years; Jose Alvarado, her parents; Fernando and Micaela Casanova, brothers; Ramon, Eliseo, Fernando, sisters; Sarah and Susie, and her grandson; Javier.
Mickey memory will forever live in the hearts of her daughters; Angelita C. Galindo (Sergio) and Carol A. Barrientos, her son; Philip C. Casarez, her grandchildren; Edward, Christina, Jennifer, Adrian, Joseph, Philip Thomas, and 15 great-grandchildren
A Visitation for Micaela will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Processional will depart from the funeral home at 10:00 AM for a Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, TX 78237 with Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
