He graduated from Cornell University in 1982 and soon after became an officer in the armed forces. Michael was a proud veteran and had distinguished service in the United States Navy, first graduating as a Navy pilot and then awarded with a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and many other commendations. After honorable discharge from the Navy, Michael embarked on an extensive national and international medical sales career where he has had a profound impact on those he worked with worldwide. His passion for traveling led him to developing and leading the International division at Penumbra, Inc, where he concluded his career as Penumbra’s Senior Vice-President, International, working until his final days.
The most important thing in his life was his family. His family loved traveling the world together and if there was any sporting, musical, or dance event involving his children, Michael would surely be found in the front row. Other than his beloved family, he had a great love for sports, Formula One, and Ferrari. He would often be found listening to his favorite songs while driving his red Ferrari in the Texas sunshine. He was a great friend and mentor to so many, of so many ages, and in so many places across the globe.
His family has organized memorial services to honor Michael's life and military service. Visitation will take place at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home (6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238) on Wednesday, February 15 from 7pm – 9pm. A funeral and celebration of life will take place on Thursday, February 16 at 11am at First Presbyterian Church (404 N Alamo St, San Antonio, TX 78205).
