I keep thinking about mike more and more throughout the years ... He was my best friend and my sidekick for so many years that i never thought i would live a life without him. Sadly i have struggled with my own addictions though out the years... He was someone that i could tell anything to without judgement.... I miss you just as much as did then. I hope you all the best

I'm sorry I'm just now finding out about this. I'd look you up on social media from time to time but I never would if thought I'd find this. It's been decades since we've spoke but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I don't know how to express my sympathy and offer my condolences to Danny Gibbons on the death of his lovely son.

 I was so terribly sad to hear of your loss for Mike. I can't believe his time was up so soon. I attended the funeral and it was absolutely beautiful. I also left a rosary with one of the ushers to pass on to you because it was very precious to me. I just want you to know that I have known Mike since we were all kids Buck,Justin,Walter and I loved him to pieces. I have also tried my hardest to look after Mike as much as I could. I will miss him dearly and pray for your family. I just want you to know that God has a plan for everyone and he is in a better place. His is no longer suffering from this terrible disease and you will see him again one day. If you ever need ANYTHING please don't hesitate to call or email, I am right over in HollyWood Park. To the Gibbons family... 
Mike, an angel sent from heaven touched my life as he did many many of us. 
My "teddy bear" always giving away hugs and smiles. He was my pal, my bud, my brother. We rented movies together and pigged out on whatever we could get our hands on. We talked and talked and laughed and cut up. Just last Thursday we were talking about both of our 1 year sobriety birthdays coming up, mine being October 26th and his December 1st. 
The cunning, baffling, powerful destruction of this disease is most heartbreaking and most difficult to battle. This is the 2nd brother I have lost in a 2month period due to this God forsaken disease. 
As I go through rage and anger and the "why's" and what ifs...and the shoulda, woulda, coulda...I MUST resort back to accepting God's mighty plan, for he shall use the death of precious Mike to save the lives of many others. It doesnt seem fair, however, it makes me feel relieved and proud to know that Mike's battle and struggle is over. He IS one of God's chosen favorites and he IS looking down upon us with a dip in his lip and a smirk on his face appauding those of us who keep pressing on. Mr. & Mrs Gibbons and family, You are in my prayers, I cant possibly feel the pain of your loss, but believe me when I say, I am close. Stay strong and keep passing the word of addiction recovery to those still suffering, use Mike as a mighty example.

I am Mathew Decker's mom. Mike was a guest in our home on a few occasions. He spent The 4th of July with us. He attended church with us and we had a picnic dinner and swimming in the afternoon.
