He lived a life marked by hard work, integrity, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith. He graduated from Churchill High School before earning a degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. A proud Longhorn, he carried the values of dedication and perseverance throughout his life.
Following college, Michael combined his entrepreneurial spirit with a strong work ethic to build a successful screen-printing business. As a self-employed business owner for more than 40 years, he earned the respect of customers, colleagues, and friends through his honesty, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence. His work touched countless individuals and organizations throughout the community.
Those who knew Michael will remember his steady presence, warm smile, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. He valued time spent with family and friends and took great pride in the accomplishments of those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, James I. Hegarty IV; nephew James I Hegarty V (Eunsook Kim); niece Jamie Elizabeth Schwettmann; and grandniece Leah Kim Hegarty.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North 2102 N Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, Tx, 78232.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his faith sustained him throughout his life and now welcomes him into eternal peace. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
