'I went to college with Michael at SMU before he transferred to Southwest Texas State. I only recently found out about his passing and I am deeply saddened by it. I had not seen Michael in quite some time but I always loved the time I spent with him and I considered him one of my closest friends while he was at SMU. 'Michael, even though we didn't spend much time together, I cannot help but feel like I knew you my entire life. You were like an older brother to me. I am going to miss you man! When I needed to talk to someone about school, you were there to listen. When I needed to talk to someone about my future, you were there for me as well. I really appreciate your willingness to help everyone. It is a shame that you had to go so soon. I can honestly say that I wish we had more time to get to know one another. You are, and always will be admired by me. You are one of the few people that I looked at, and thought to myself, 'Someday, I hope I can be like him." Plus, I was getting really good at darts. Almost good enough to beat you. I remember when I practiced every day for 6 months, just to kick your butt in a game of darts, because you motivated me to see to it that I reach the goals I set, and that nothing stops me...Unless my dad comes up and beats us both like last time :)

I remember the countless hours spent talking to you about the gas powered RC planes you were going to let me one day fly, and how I was going to teach you to build and fly quadcopters. I remember you describing to me how you fly your planes, and the best conditions for them. I remember you even explained how to do maintenance on the entire engine to me, all over the phone, just because I wanted to talk. I will keep the promise I made you, and if Deanna or Kaitlyn ever need anything at all (should anything ever happen to you), I will go and help them. 

But then, just like that, you were gone. Well, I guess even the worst happens to the best of us.You may be gone in our lives, but you will forever live in our hearts.'
