

Michael Eugene Little, 51, of San Antonio, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007. Beloved husband, father, brother and friend ~ Born February 10, 1955 to Eugene and Jody Dalton Little, he descended from pioneer Texas families, Michael was raised in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie; sons, Andrew and Taylor Little; and daughter, Kathryn Little. He is also survived by his brother, Doug Little and wife, Sara of Houston; brother, Patrick Little and wife, Christy of Houston; sister, Julia Engelmann and husband, Craig of Pflugerville; parents-in-law, Dr. Joe and Janice Hymer; brothers-in-law, Spero Constantine of Dallas and John Constantine of Austin; uncle, Jack Little and wife, Nancy and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Michael graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston and received his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1978, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta.
A prominent oilman in San Antonio and Houston, he began his career in the petroleum industry as a drilling foreman in Midland and a drilling engineer in New Orleans for Chevron USA. Prior to his death, he was President and CEO of the Wedge Group Inc. in Houston, and was Chairman of the Board of Pioneer Drilling in San Antonio ~ From 1998 to 2003, he was President and CEO of Pioneer Drilling.
Michael served as President and CEO and Director of Dawson Production Services from 1982 to 1998, when it was acquired by Key Energy Services, Inc. Under his lead, Dawson grew from four work over rigs and thirty employees to over 500 rigs and 3, 000 employees. From 1980-1982, he was Vice President of Camden Engineering, Inc.
Michael loved his family and friends, ranching, boating and hunting, as well as football. A proud Texan, his sharp wit and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
Michael was 'in-state' on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 from 3:00 P.M. through 7:30 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park ~ 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218 ~ The family visited with friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN or a charity of one's choice.
