Mr. Michael Highams McBride

Beloved husband and Dad passed peacefully in his sleep on September 16, 2026, at Northeast Methodist hospital in San Antonio, Texas, after an extended stay at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home.

He is survived by Debbie Satterfield McBride, wife of 52 years; sons Matthew H. McBride and Nathan A. McBride; and daughter, Bethany McBride Mitchell and son-in-law Brandon Mitchell.

Also surviving him are his brother Joel McBride (Diane), his sister Melissa McBride Strouse (Dave) and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lori Satterfield Carter (Stanley).

He leaves behind granddaughter, Aubrey McBride (Mother Michelle), grandson, Greyson Mitchell, and granddaughter, Dallas McBride and several close friends.

Mike was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on April 21, 1953, and shortly thereafter started his lifelong hobby of collecting baseball cards. He would talk about them for hours on end; whether you were listening or not.

Mike served 24 years active duty as a nurse in the U. S. Army while taking extra shifts at nursing homes. After retirement, he worked as a hospice nurse for Vitas for 13 years.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Claude H. McBride, his mother Eloise Peterson McBride and his first child Mary McBride.

There will be no funeral service. His family will have a small service beside the columbarium at a later date.
