Michael Francis Plueger, Retired U.S. Army Major, age 76, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 11, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and Desert Storm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine Filiatreault Plueger and Frank Plueger. Michael is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cynthia Sanchez Plueger; son, Michael F. Plueger, Jr. (Cynthia); grandchildren, Micaela A. Plueger, Michael F. Plueger III; and his siblings, Richard Plueger, Jim Plueger (Leanne), Ed Plueger (Rebekah).
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave. A procession will leave at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from Porter Loring Mortuary to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4201 De Zavala Rd. for a Mass at 11:15 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
