Michael David Prescher was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 13, 1947, to Edgar Walter Prescher and Dorothy Lang Prescher. Mike succumbed to his battle with cancer on July 1, 2025, and is now with our Lord in Heaven.
Mike was a loving son, beloved husband and wonderful brother-in-law and uncle. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Dorothy Prescher and his wife’s parents, David and Ann Alpha and brother’s in-law, Richard Alpha and Harry Dean Hood.
Mike is survived by his wife, Angela Alpha Prescher and extended family of Pamela Hood, David and Patti Alpha, Gwendoly Alpha, Robin Alpha, Steven and Bonnie Alpha, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Mike served in the Army during the Vietnam conflict and returned home to complete his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at UT Arlington. He then accepted a job with Southwester Bell for 18 years before forming his own telecommunication equipment installation companies. He spent his later years working at the University of Texas San Antonio in audio/visual support technology and retired in 2022.
Mike was a lifelong Mason and became a Shriner while living in the Houston area and was very active in this brotherhood of friends. He was an avid motorcyclist, car, and sporting gun enthusiast and a member of a local trap shooting club and a car club, as well as other organizations. He enjoyed being an active member in organizations and making new friends. He always had a smile on his face and a helping hand to lend to anyone who was in need. He will be remembered for telling jokes and making people laugh.

A celebration of life honoring Mike will be held at a later date in San Antonio, Texas. His ashes will be interred in Baytown, Texas with a graveside service in the fall.
Mike will be missed by all who know him. May he rest in Peace in the arms of the Lord.
