Faith – Family – Friends
These words, prominently displayed in the Simpson home, were more than a motto—they were Mike’s way of life. He found his greatest joy in time spent with loved ones, especially when serving and supporting others. He and Elaine recently renewed their vows after 30 years of marriage, a testament to their deep faith and enduring love. Together they built a strong blended and extended family, and their joy in celebrating life with family and friends created memories that will last forever.
Throughout his life, Mike was devoted to serving others. He volunteered as a Little League coach, confirmation teacher, Lay Eucharistic Minister, outreach leader, vestry member, golf instructor, and even “grandchildren consultant.” He was especially active in The Brotherhood of St. Andrew, where he found great fellowship and purpose.
Mike’s college years were interrupted by military service in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He later completed his degree at the University of Louisville and built a successful career in media sales, serving as General Sales Manager at companies including KENS-TV (San Antonio) and WLKY (Louisville).
A lifelong athlete, Mike had a passion for baseball and golf. In retirement, he volunteered at golf tournaments around the country, from Kiawah Island to the Phoenix Open. He loved exploring new places, visiting museums, and traveling with Elaine, family, and close friends.
On July 22nd, Mike was scheduled to fly home to San Antonio—but instead, he took an early detour to his glorious eternal home. He will be missed beyond measure by all who were blessed to know him.
