Trevino family, it was a honor to be a classmate in the fire academy and the seventh EMS class with you son, husband, and all family members. Mike as we all know was bigger than life. His presence lit up ever room he entered. His smile was contagious. His laughter always put me and everyone around him in a better mood. His positive attitude made the best of any situation. He was a great friend we all loved him deeply. Heaven gained a incredible new life and This world lost a great friend, love one , and mentor. I know he was a follower of Jesus Christ and we are promised a new life in heaven, where we can see him again.

I am glad to see that I am still able to convey my thoughts to the Trevino family. While being blessed to have worked with Henry, Mike, Opal, Larry and Mark it is evident that the family is a tremendous family filled with love, not just for each other but for their SAFD family as well. That was obvious by the attendance of so many Firefighters at the service. Trevino family, please find comfort in that many others feel your loss and that we offer prayer. My heartfelt condolences to Henry, Opal, Mike's children, siblings and all his family.  May our Lord bless and comfort his loved ones during this difficult time.  Mike was a great man and always had a big smile on his face.  He loved his family and was a devoted father, husband, son and brother.  We will always cherish the many precious memories of Mike in our hearts.  May Mike Rest In Peace.  Love you Cousin!

Mike never judged anyone, never spoke badly of anyone,  made friends of everyone, was generous, kind, soft hearted, made everyone laugh, and laughed at himself.

My sincere condolences to Opal and my Trevino cousins on the loss of my handsome cousin, Mike. He was a dedicated firefighter, loving father, son, and brother. I will always remember his big smile that could light up a room and the big bear hugs he gave me.  He will definitely leave big boots to fill. Love you Mike. Michael my firstborn passed away at the age of 65.  Being the first son, he took it upon himself to be the protector of all his siblings. He guided and loved his brothers and sister.  If there was a problem between siblings, they called BIG MIKE; he solved the problem without his parents knowing.  	He retired from the Fire Department after serving the citizens of San Antonio for 32 years.  His second career was working in the oil fields.  He was a certified safety officer; he was in charge of safety, paramedics, trenching, extraction, drilling, gas accumulations and oil spills.    	One day two of BIG MIKE’S younger brothers were drowning in the Medina River.  He dove in and saved both of them.  I know that BIG MIKE is still watching over us.  We are going to miss him greatly; there is going to be a great empty spot in our family; we will never be the same.   	We will never forget his laughter, joyous character, and his willingness to help and protect his parents, his brothers, and sister, his grandchildren, and his friends.  	Thanks, Mike; thanks for being with us for 65 years.  Now we pray to God that He will hold you in His arms and keep you in his realm.  We pray that you will sleep in peace until we meet again.

Mike was always a larger-than-life figure in our lives both literally and figuratively.   He was the unbreakable rock in the family.  His strength, energy, confidence, and abilities seemed boundless.  To lose him so early is especially difficult.    He was a fierce defender of the family and spared nothing to come to our aid.   He remained that way throughout his entire life.  Mike especially appreciated the close relationship he maintained with friends and colleagues in the fire and police departments.  He always considered them a part of his family.  Mike savored life and took every opportunity to live it to the fullest.  He enjoyed hunting and deep-sea fishing.  He amassed a collection of mounts that would put Lone Star Brewery to shame.  Just three weeks prior to his death Mike took his boys out deep-sea-fishing and they came back with a beautiful catch.   One of the things I admired most about my brother was his willingness to be bold in the pursuit of his dreams.  Sure, he had some set-backs along the way, as we all do.  But he would look at those as opportunities for self-reflection, betterment, and redirection.  Mike had an innate ability of always landing on his feet.  He would continuously look forward and never dwell in the past.   His positive can-do attitude served him well throughout life.    We will miss him but can be comforted in the fact that he lived life with gusto, and on his terms.

We were all so deeply saddened when Mike passed away, so sudden and we continue to pray for the Family's comfort, peace & strength.  Mike was so fun to be around, always kept us laughing, listening to his shared stories of hunting & exploring, while he also loved listening to Mariachi music & bands, always with a mischievous gleam in his eye. He was a great Brother-in-Law and friend, & we will never forget his infectious positivity, laughter & smile. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of family, love, joy, kindness & optimism for all those blessed to know him. Warmest prayers & everlasting peace.

Everywhere Mike went he left a lasting impression.  His big personality always filled the room with laughter. His “Tony Montana” impersonation was perfect. People of all ages would flock to him.  There are no words to describe the loss we feel. I can’t be more proud of him, knowing just how many lives he touched. Love you brother Adrian and Rosanne

I remember Micheal from St. Cecilia’s Catholic School. We were in the same class, he was a great person and will be missed dearly by all.

I am very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. My condolences to the Trevino Family. Mike was a good man, full of life. He will be missed.

Deepest sympathy and condolences on Mike passing. I met Mike in 1977 when I first joined the dept at #9 fire station. I told him he reminded me of a western movie star clint walker. the short version.  I would see mike every now in then in my 37 yr. career always working out and going to the lake or somewhere out doors. He truly was a great Guy. a Rosary and Prayers have been said in his honor.
