Michael is survived by his parents, Anthony and Michele Cano; his brother, Christian, his sister, Catherine; his father, Ronald Twist; maternal grandparents, Richard and Joan Fox; paternal grandparents, George and Pat Twist; paternal grandparents Tom and Lusie Tison; and grandparents Tony and Rose Cano; aunts, Colleen Fox, Sharon Fox and Patricia Cano; uncles, Rick Fox, John Fox; and step-brother, Nicholas Twist.
Michael is forever young at heart, growing from a small little boy who loved to watch Batman over and over again, into a big brother and a young man.
During Michael's elementary years at St. Gregory's Catholic School he made his mark in soccer and science.
He earned honors in several science fairs, representing the school in citywide competition.
He loved to play soccer, and was a member of a team that shone through during an undefeated season and the City Championship.
Michael aspired to be a screenwriter and was always writing poetry and songs.
At St. Anthony's Catholic High School he dedicated himself to his soccer and debate teams.
He discovered how much he enjoyed being on the stage as a member of the St. Anthony's - Incarnate Word Theater Co.
Michael enjoyed music, and taught himself to play the guitar.
He looked forward to singing with the choir at St. Anthony's during daily chapel and special occasions.
He loved his brother, Christian, and taught him as only a big brother can.
Michael had a special love for his sister, Catherine, was present at her birth and cut her umbilical cord, and then guarded his newborn baby sister at the hospital nursery for hours.
Michael was always helping others, and always standing by his friends and family.
Michael was helped on life's journey by many caring people who encouraged, nurtured, and watched over him. Michael and his family extend a special thanks to you.
