Corporal Michael A. Villarreal, loving son, father, fianc, brother, and friend went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was born in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his daughters, Savannah Monet Villarreal and Demi Renay Villarreal; parents, Alfred and Rosie Villarreal; sister, Debra Lynn Frazier; fiance, Veronica Clare Saldivar along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and special friends George Romero and Rene Carreno.
He started playing baseball ball at the age of four years old where he not only developed but shared his love of the game with both his mother and father. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen's CYO baseball team where he enjoyed most of his youth as a pitcher where "Mr. V" coached and "Mrs. V" supported him in numerous championships.
Michael gifted us with a great treasure of memories, he created by sharing his love and passion for motorcycles with his fiance, fellow officers and friends.
He attended Central Catholic High School his freshman year and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1982. He completed his Law Enforcement certification in 1995 at San Antonio Law Enforcement Academy.
Michael was a loving and devoted father. He adored his precious "angels", Savannah and Demi. He would always say: "My biggest accomplishments in life without question was becoming a father to my two beautiful daughters, secondly was the day I became a Texas Peace Ocer".
Michael proudly served 29 years as a public servant. He was an 18 year veteran law enforcement officer whose career began in 1995 in Bexar County, Texas, Precinct 4. He continued with various agencies: Precinct 5, Kendall County, Frio County and Pearsall. Michael headed the Code Enforcement Department for the City of Nixon in addition to his role as a Patrol Officer. Most recently, Michael joined the Pearsall Police Department in Frio County and proudly accepted his promotion as Detective.
One of Michael's favorite quotes was, "Sometimes life is about risking everything for the dream that no one sees but you." Michael lived and fulfilled his dreams. He accomplished his purpose in life: to encourage, help, love, serve and provide the gift of life. He was a friend and brother to all, enemy to none, and a child of God in life's setting sun. Although everyone lost a best friend or a brother in arms he left a lasting impression for all.
Corporal Villarreal will lie in state on Friday, April 17, 2015 beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough.
