

Michelle McCloskey age 61, passed away on Saturday, June 10th, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas.Born December 25th, 1961, in Lake Jackson, Texas to Robert Larry Reasor and Maggie Looney Reasor. She is preceded in death by her father.
Michelle will be remembered as an amazing Daughter, Sister, Auntie, Stepmom and Friend. She also leaves behind a legacy as a pioneering role model. She redefined workplaces and inspired the next generation of leaders. She was loved and beloved.
At the time of her death, Michelle was the Executive Chair of the Strategic Investment Group in Arlington Virginia. She also served as an independent director on boards including Assured Guaranty LTD and the Sanford C Bernstein Fund Inc, and the Bernstein Fund, Inc suite of funds at Alliance Bernstein. She was a past member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Texas Tech University Endowment. Before transitioning to board membership, Michelle was the President of the Americas at Man Group. She was also a member of the Man Group Executive Committee and served on a variety of investment and governance boards within the Man family of businesses. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Michelle has run investment strategies for energy companies, investment banks and hedge funds. She joined man in 2006 initially to build expertise in commodities and new alternatives, including energy and environmental investing and liquid real estate opportunities. At Man FRM, Michelle was responsible for manager research, selection, and oversight of the full range of non-private alternative investment strategies as well as Man’s multi-billion-dollar managed account platform. Michelle graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Michelle won many awards, and in 2018 she was awarded The National Organization of Women’s “The Women of Power and Influence” Award celebrating extraordinary women leaders on the front line of progress.
She loved to cook, ride her mountain bike, hike, and live a life in tune with nature.
Her most precious honor was being an Auntie and Stepmom.
Michelle leaves behind her mom Maggie Looney, sister Suzanne Buchanan, brother-in-law James Buchanan, niece Morgan Buchanan, stepchildren Sean and Sara McCloskey, Yuki the Cat, and her lifetime close circle of friends and colleagues.
