Miguel "Mike" Hernandez Jr., a loving father, husband, brother and friend was born on July 20, 1958 in Karnes City, Texas. Passed from a courageous battle of cirrhosis on November 7, 2022 in San Antonio, TX at age 64.
Mike was a simple man known for his funny jokes, love for music, and laid-back character. He had a big heart for his family and friends. He loved watching college football on Saturdays with his son-in-law. One of his favorite NFL teams was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his grandkids and eating his favorite food, Carne Guisada tacos. Watching old movies was something he like to do in his past time. He will forever be remembered for his sports caps, sunglasses, and smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel Hernandez, Christina Mata and sisters, Angie Alvizo and Sandra Hernandez.
Mike is survived by his wife, Laurie Hernandez; daughters, Sarah Gonzalez and husband Carlos, Cynthia Hernandez; grandchildren, Cristiano and Athena Gonzalez and siblings, Silvia Perez, Rick Hernandez, and wife Becky.
A visitation for Mike will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78211 with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM. A Funeral procession will depart the Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM for a Graveside Service at 1:00 PM at Emmanuel Assembly of God Cemetery, FM 541, Poth, Texas 78113.
