'I am still in shock about losing Mike. I've known Mike since the late 90's where we served in 601st Avn together. I pushed Mike to become a Warrant Officer back then and was thrilled when he finally did. He was always a happy guy and as all you know, such a great guy. He was bound and determined that I come to work with him in the FAA when I finally retire and I truly regret I won't have the opportunity to work with him again. He will be sorely missed. 'Mike and I were Aviation Maintenance Techs in the same 101st Aviation Brigade. We were always competing for who had the better stats, flew the most, and who could turn a phase out faster. This competition made us better at what we did. I was and am proud to say that Mike made me better! Even during the off hours while on deployment, Mike always wanted to give, and he set up classes and taught things like fiber optics and prepped soldiers for the FAA exams. He could have just done his job, and called it quits after those long days, but that just wasn't Mike, he always wanted better for people. For those that knew him, we were blessed to have him in our lives, for those that didn't, they missed out. I have peace of mind knowing that Mike is up in Heaven getting it squared away for the rest of us.

Shortly after Mike became a Warrant Officer I started my packet as well and meet Mike at Fort Rucker AL, where he helped me fine tune my packet resulting me getting selected as a Warrant Office myself. 'Mike and I shared the same career field, in the Army. Mike would call me about 3 times a year and tell me about career moves, he was considering. He was always very interested in bouncing his options off of me. He truly honored me, in allowing me to speak, my limited wisdom, into his life.
