She was born 3-6-32 in Bandera County to William Arthur and Lucy Pue.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Rust, five sisters, one brother, and a grandson.
She is survived by daughters Jackie Rust, Kandy Odom, grandson Colby Lewis, granddaughter Haley Catlett, great-grandson Gage Catlett and many nieces and nephews.
Known as Jeanie to friends and family, she retired from AT&T after holding several positions during 31 years of service, including becoming one of the first female switchman in Texas. She was a member of CWA and Southwestern Bell Telephone Pioneers, as well as the Missionary Baptist Church.
In her younger and healthier years, she was very giving and supportive, as well as being hands-on involved in charities, such as Elf Louise, Feed the Children, Camelot Volunteer Fire Department, Lady’s Auxiliary, ASPCA, Animal Defense League, Therapy Dogs Inc. (Alliance), St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and others.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
