

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin E. and Emily M. Urbantke, and sister, Dorothy Baird.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel T. Winkler of Marion, Texas; daughter, Linda and husband, Carl Stroebel of Cisco, Texas; son, Gary and wife, Joan Winkler of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Beverly and husband, Bobby Joe Wood of Fredericksburg, Texas; son, Cliff and wife, Tracy Winkler of Euless, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff Stroebel, Janecka Beckett, Jason Stroebel, Wes Winkler, Staci Brubaker, Seth Winkler; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Patterson; brother, Ardeen Urbantke, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church and she was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
In her youth she was adept at softball. She was a Boy Scout and Brownie leader. She loved to go with her dad to sell cedar posts.
She was married to Samuel T. Winkler on November 3, 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at The Grove, Texas. She was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She loved fishing, gardening, ceramics, sewing, bowling and canning. She made the best sugar cookies and would yell, "Yatzee" like a little child. She started the day and ended everyday with prayers to the Lord. She decorated the home for every holiday and never missed an opportunity to take pictures.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 220 The Grove Road, Gatesville, TX 76528 with interment to follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Stroebel, Jason Stroebel, Wes Winkler, Hoot Beckett, Jared Stroebel, and Cecil Sorsby.
