

Milton Clifton Butler, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2011. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on December 13, 1928 to Milton Clifton Sr. and Tempia Elizabeth Butler.
He graduated with a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Texas Tech University prior to attending The University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and completed his medical internship at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Butler then completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas in Galveston. For over forty years, he made his home and practiced orthopedic surgery in San Antonio, Texas.
He loved bird hunting and fishing- he especially loved fishing in Rockport, Texas. His favorite pastimes included music, traveling and reading, especially history. He will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Panze Kimmel. He is survived by wife, Trudy, son Milton Butler III, daughter Anne and husband Ed Hansalik, daughter Mary and husband Jeff Smith, stepdaughters Patty Phillips and Danny Jo Champagne, grandchildren Joseph, Vincent, Madeline and Marianne Hansalik and Alyse and Vance Smith.
There will be a Memorial Service for family and friends at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough, on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
