He was born in Topeka, Kansas April 13,1930. Right out of high school he joined the Air Force and had a wonderful career serving his country until he retired in 1976. He was stationed in Riverside California, Guam, France, Washington D.C., and Satellite Beach Florida. He retired and moved to San Antonio, Texas alongside his wife. He loved Texas and was glad to be closer to his family.
Milton loved to travel and entertain with his wife Annette! Their philosophy was “We will travel until we cannot carry our suitcases any longer,” and they were well in their eighties when they stopped. They brought their children on many adventures including Europe, Canada, and lots of the United States.
Milton made friends wherever they traveled. And he will be known and missed for his kindness, generosity, hospitality, and sense of adventure.
Milton was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golf as well. He was also a wonderful artist and enjoyed painting, sculpture, and drawing. He had featured art alongside up and coming artists, and he always supported other artists!
Milton was always willing to learn and grow. In his sixties, he decided to get his Masters in business.
Milton was also a faithful and serving man. He was a devote Catholic and his home church was St. John Newman Catholic Church in San Antonio. He welcomed many a priest into his home and they became good friends!
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife Annette, his son Michael, and he is survived by his daughters Dellen Shifflett of San Antonio, Valerie Poole and her husband Wallace Poole of Conway, Arkansas, two granddaughters Erin Conner and her husband Craig Conner of Conway, Arkansas, and Lauren Johnson and her husband Justin Johnson of Cookville, Texas and great grandchildren Ethan, Corey, Scotty and Bailey Conner of Conway, Arkansas and Tierney Johnson of Cookville, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
