Milton Norman Francis Sonny Staudt

He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother and friend.

Sonny is survived by the woman he loved since she was 17 years old, his wife of 46 years, Mary Jayne; daughter, Tracy Staudt; son, Jason Staudt and daughter-in-law, Nikki Staudt; his grandchildren, Tess and Max Oliver; his devoted friend, Fede; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and the many "adopted grandkids" who knew him as "Papa".

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ruben Staudt; sister, Helen Houston Smyer; and brother, Tommy Staudt. Sonny is the son of Arthur and Alma Staudt.

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, San Antonio, and attended St. Mary's University. He served in the U.S. Army and as a San Antonio Police officer. He was owner of National Insulation Company for 25 years. He served as a Deacon at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for 10 years.

He was a charter member of the Alamo Wing of the Confederate Air Force. One of his proudest accomplishments was receiving his pilot's license in his later years. He was President of the San Antonio Bowling Association, the Bexar Squares square dance club, and a member of the Knights of Columbus as Vocations Director.

He also had a lifelong interest in motorcycles, riding as a teenager in a leather jacket and again at the age of 70 in his deacon's robes. Sonny will be remembered for his work with youth at four different churches in San Antonio and especially his "Mexico mission" work in Eagle Pass. He was always surrounded by small children and never missed his own children's and grandchildren's school and sports activities. The most important thing in his life was always and foremost Family.

Interment will be held at a later time. Pallbearers will be Jason Staudt, Tracy Staudt, Ardell Moore, Rene Garcia, Wayne Anderson and Jim Minyon.
